On June 21, Prologis CEO Hamid Moghadam participated in the sixth roundtable summit of the Global CEO Council, hosted by President Xi Jinping at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Moghadam also received a plaque in recognition of his status as the only CEO invited to participate in the council for every year since its inception.

Themed "opening up, cooperation and mutual benefit," summit attendees discussed the Belt and Road initiative, innovation and wisdom, green development and global governance.

Moghadam spoke highly of China's economic reforms since opening its economy 40 years ago and praised the success of the five-year-old Belt and Road initiative. Moghadam was recognized for Prologis' contributions to China's development, and he reciprocated, recognizing the benefits of China’s long-term development for Prologis. Prologis has 40 million square feet of logistics infrastructure comprising 33 distribution centers and land for development in 18 markets across China.

Xi conveyed China's plans to ease market access, create a more attractive investment environment and strengthen intellectual property protection.

The meeting attracted publicity from national and international media outlets. See above for coverage from China Central Television.
