Prologis signs 23,000 Square Meter BTS Agreement in the Netherlands

AMSTERDAM (June 9, 2016) – Prologis, Inc., the global leader in logistics real estate, today announced that it has signed a build-to-suit agreement totaling 23,000 square meters with an international logistics provider in the Netherlands.

The facility will be located at industrial park Het Klooster in Nieuwegein, adjacent to key motorways such as the A2, A12 and A27. The building will be BREEAM “Very Good” accredited and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2017.

Prologis already owns three facilities in the Utrecht region. With this expansion, Prologis increases its Utrecht portfolio to more than 100,000 square meters.

“This development reflects a trend we spotted earlier, in which national distribution companies, retailers and e-tailers increasingly choose this region for their hubs,” said Johan Gadella, alderman of the municipality of Nieuwegein.”

“We have been active in this region for several years now and see a strong increase in demand for Class-A facilities,” said Bram Verhoeven, country manager, Prologis Benelux. “This development can be scaled up to an additional 30,000 square meters to accommodate the customer’s growth. Our long-term partnership with this customer and the municipality of Nieuwegein was key to the success of this project.”

Prologis is one of the leading providers of logistics real estate in the Benelux, with approximately 1.9 million square meters of logistics and distribution space as of March 31, 2016.
