Prologis acquired a fourth distribution center in the Amsterdam area from Kroonenberg Groep. Located near Schiphol Airport, and with easy connections to road networks and public transport, Amsterdam is a logistics hotspot in the Netherlands. The expansion is in line with Prologis’ strategy to create logistic hubs surrounding major cities in order to fulfill the needs of its customers.

Amsterdam City DC4

The Amsterdam City DC4 facility is a 15,700 square meter property situated on 2.5 hectares of freehold land and is rented to two customers. With the acquisition, Prologis now has four distribution centers in Amsterdam. The other locations include two warehouses in the Amsterdam Arena area (DC2 and DC3) and the recently acquired DC1 near Amsterdam-Sloterdijk, which Prologis is redeveloping and will be available for rent as of this summer.

Jack Geurtjens, director transactions Northern Europe at Prologis describes the acquisition strategy: ‘’The expansion of our Amsterdam city hub portfolio enables us to further grow our footprint in close vicinity to the city center of Amsterdam. This perfectly suits our client’s growing demand for city distribution.’’

The acquisition of Amsterdam City DC4 was coordinated by Cushman & Wakefield.
