GXO launches operations at Prologis' new distribution center in Breda
Corporate News
Breda/Rijsbergen, 18 March 2026 — GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO), the world’ s largest pure-play contract logistics provider, and Prologis, Inc., a global leader in logistics real estate, today announced a new 47,000 m² distribution center in Rijsbergen, from which GXO will provide storage and rapid distribution of critical spare parts for data centers, ensuring immediate availability in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Prologis Park Breda DC4, developed by Prologis and certified with BREEAM Excellent, is supporting the resilience of digital infrastructure, a fundamental requirement for businesses, governments and consumers.
When there is a problem at a data center, speed, reliability and availability are key. Thanks to the new distribution center's strategic location on the A16/E19 motorway, close to the Belgian-Dutch border, parts can be quickly delivered to the right place, exactly where and when they are needed.
“Data centers operate in a zero downtime world, and GXO’s expertise ensures our customers have the critical parts and response times needed to keep infrastructure running without interruption,” said Willem Veekens. GXO’s Managing Director for Northern Europe. “Our teams manage highly specialized inventory, deliver rapid-response logistics, and maintain the precision and reliability that the digital economy depends on. We’re proud to partner with Prologis to support the resilience of essential digital infrastructure across the region.”
The start of leasing underscores the importance of readily available logistics space in well-connected locations. "Many customers plan their supply chains on a horizon of about five years, while new developments can take considerably longer due to permitting processes, infrastructure availability, such as grid connection, and the limited number of suitable locations," said Gina Helmold, Head of Capital Deployment & Leasing Benelux at Prologis. "Developments such as Breda DC4 enable customers to respond quickly without compromising on energy performance and operational efficiency."
Bart Konings, Director of Leasing at Prologis, said: "GXO has been a Prologis customer for many years at multiple cross-border locations. As a result, we know exactly what their operation requires. Breda DC4 demonstrates what customers are looking for today: an easily accessible location that supports delivery reliability, combined with a modern, energy-efficient building with a focus on sustainability and a pleasant working environment."
The building is fully all-electric and prepared for solar panels. Smart metering and building systems help to provide insight into energy consumption and manage it efficiently. This means the building is designed for scalable operations and future energy upgrades.
With Breda DC4, Prologis demonstrates how modern logistics locations contribute to reliable delivery, digital continuity, and economic activity. Logistics is no longer a supporting link in the supply chain—it is a prerequisite for a society that must always be on.
