DB Schenker doubles warehouse facility with the lease of Prologis Fokker Logistics Park DC3D
DB Schenker, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, has decided to expand its warehouse facilities in the Amsterdam area. For over a decade the company has been leasing 10,300 square meters at the Prologis Fokker Logistics Park. Now, to fulfill their growth ambition, DB Schenker has signed a long-term lease agreement for yet another built-to-suit warehouse of 10,300 square meters. This new facility (DC3D) is conveniently located attached to their existing facility. The construction of DC3D starts this month, and the facility will be ready to be used by DB Schenker in the first quarter of 2023.
DB Schenker supports industry and trade in the global exchange of goods through land transport, worldwide air and ocean freight, contract logistics and supply chain management. With the new lease of Prologis Fokker Logistics Park DC3D the company is able to further realize their growth ambitions. Paul Schreiber, Vice President Air Freight at DB Schenker in BeNeLux: “We have been leasing a Prologis warehouse facility for more than ten years, and with full satisfaction. As our business is growing, we need more square meters to be able to deliver to our customers worldwide, and we are very pleased to expand our warehouse facilities at Prologis Fokker Logistics Park.”
Marijn van den Heuvel, Director Capital Deployment & Leasing at Prologis says, “We are very happy to intensify our partnership with DB Schenker and to complete our high secured business park by building this warehouse for DB Schenker”.
Prologis Fokker Logistics Park
The new facility leased by DB Schenker is located at Prologis Fokker Logistics Park DC3D, which accommodates numerous international logistics companies, as well as medical- and technology-related companies. With 300,000 square meters, it is the largest airport-linked privately owned logistics business park in Europe. The building offers maximum flexibility in terms of space and layout. “We are extremely excited to expand our business with a focus on Healthcare and Pharma shipments in this Air Freight crossdock operation and we cannot wait to start the construction of our new ambient warehouse,” says Paul Schreiber.
Highest design, security and sustainability standard
The park has been built to meet the highest design and security standards, as well as the sustainability criteria. The facility is provided with LED lighting, a floor load capacity of 40 kN per square meter, an open and very bright office space and will be equipped with solar panels. It is the ambition to comply with the ‘BREEAM Excellent’ standard in the new building.
